On June 4, 2021, Vice President of the Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Serbia, Dr. Resad ef. Plojovic received a delegation from the Political Department of the United States Embassy in Belgrade, led by Mr. Daniel Carroll.
The meeting focused on current issues concerning the functioning of the Islamic Community, activities during the corona virus pandemic, relations between members of different ethnic communities, as well as cooperation between the Islamic Community and the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The special interest of the guest was the restitution of confiscated property to the Islamic Community, and the dynamics of returning it, where the host emphasized that the restitution process started very late and was very slow, expressing expectations that the return of requested waqf property would be accelerated.
