Serbia, Novi Pazar – The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej stated this evening that “much silence is kept” about the events in Novi Pazar and added that it is necessary for the country to weigh in on this topic.
“Much silence is being kept concerning the events in Novi Pazar, instead the voice and power of the country should be heard”, said Irinej at the spiritual academy marking the hundredth anniversary of the birth of previous Patriarch Pavle in Kolarčev’s endowment in Belgrade.
Irinej did not specify which of the events in Novi Pazar about being kept silent but mentioned it whilst speaking about the period that Pavle spent in Kosovo and Metohija, the suffering of the local Serbs and reluctance of the communist government to respond to the terror the Albanians were practicing as well as the clearing out of Serbs.
