Novi Pazar – Guided by the first verses of the Qur’anic publication, and the hadith (teaching) of the Prophet Mohammed p.b.u.h.,, “The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”.

We decided to visit the School of the Holy Qur’an, and witness the truth of this ayah (verse).

At the entrance we were greeted by warm voices of the young students attending the School of the Holy Qur’an.

Admission for students of the School of the Holy Qur’an began August 20 and runs until the 15 of September. Registration of participants is done from 9a.m. to 2p.m. in the first shift and then from 5p.m. to 7p.m. The School of the Holy Qur’an in Novi Pazar currently has about 500 participants. Classes are held in two shifts, two school hours, morning and afternoon. School of the Holy Qur’an has 10 departments and 15 subdepartments.

School’s of the Holy Qur’an are scattered in Prijepolje, Ribariće, Delimedje, Radohovce, Vienna, Munich, Petnjica and Rozaje and a department in Novi Pazar.

When the participants were asked why they enrolled in this school the responses were similar, they all want to learn to read the Arabic alphabet and be Hafizi of the Holy Qur’an (memorize the Holy Qur’an by heart).

,, Students attending the School of the Holy Qur’an are ages four to somewhere around twelve years old. They are placed in different groups, we have a group that memorizes Ame juz (chapter) by heart, that is the last juz of the Qur’an. What must be emphasized is that we have a selected group, these are students who know five juz’s by heart.“ Said Hafiz Semsa Dacic.

„ In addition to children’s groups in the School of the Holy Qur’an, there are groups for adults who are learning harfs (Arabic letters), Tajweed (correct pronunciation during recitation), and Hifz (memorization). Hafiz Dacić proudly points out that “School of the Holy Qur’an gives outstanding results in every field”.

,, In this time of trial and tribulation, Internet, television, where anything and everything is offered, violence in the streets, drugs, we encourage parents to spend their children’s leisure time in the School of the Holy Qur’an, we will be their teachers, educators, and nurtures“, said school secretary Dzemil Destanović.

Finally he said that, „People today are looking for different recipes, methods, and medications to be happy and the best prescription is the Qur’an. If we go back to the Qur’an it will be nicer for us in our homes, families, it will be better for us and our children as well. So fellow citizens, brothers and sisters in Islam; enroll your children in the School of the Holy Qur’an, make them happier and content. Fill their life with obligations, because if we aren’t with them and you aren’t with them, someone else from the wrong side will be.“
