Delegation of Islamic Community in Serbia on an official visit to Qatar

Northern Sandzak – The Delegation of the Islamic Community in Serbia comprised of president Mufti Mevlud effendi Dudic, Sandzak Mufti Muamer effendi Zukorlic and Meshihat's (Isamic Community of Serbia) Head of Religious and educational services Mr. Enver effendi Omerović, began their three-day visit to Qatar.

The visit began with a meeting with Minister of waqf (Islamic property) and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Gajs bin Mubarak al-Kuvajri, who is also the host of this sojourn. In an hour and a half long interview the Meshihat representatives informed the Minister of the institutions, functions and projects of the Islamic community.

Expressing joy of having the opportunity to host a delegation of the Islamic Community in Serbia, the host stressed his readiness to support projects of the Meshihat, confident that this will be a signal in supporting the peace and stability in the Balkans.

The Representatives of Meshihat thanked the State of Qatar for all it's doing for Islam and Muslims in the world, especially in the Balkans, highlighting the implementation of the Gazi Husrev-Beg Library in Sarajevo, the Islamic Center in Rijeka and Islamic Center in Ljubljana, whose construction was financed by Qatar.

Construction of the Central Mosque in Novi Pazar, would be yet another pearl on the necklace of Islamic culture in the Balkans, thanks to the leadership and people of Qatar.

On the first day of the visit, the Meshihat delegation visited the Islamic Cultural Center “Abdullah bin Zayed ali Mutavdi”, where they met with General Director Dr. Nasir Yusuf, and had the opportunity to be introduced with the center's activities in the fields of Arabic study and the promotion of Islam.

During the conversation with the General Director and his associates, they came to an agreement of collaboration in all fields.
