Piletina ili hamburger u va\u0161em obroku napravljeni su od mesa \u017eivotinja koje se hrane kukuruzom. Benzin u va\u0161im kolima sadr\u017ei 10 odsto etanola, koji se pravi od kukuruza. To je borba za isto zrno, ka\u017ee ekonomista sa Univerziteta u Misuriju, Pet Vesthof.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cNa etanol odlazi ozbiljna koli\u010dina ameri\u010dkog useva kukuruza svake godine. Zbog toga je cena kukuruza vi\u0161a nego \u0161to bi bila ina\u010de\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Pove\u0107anje cena kukuruza zna\u010di skok cena mesa. Etanol je zna\u010dajno po\u010deo da uti\u010de na tr\u017ei\u0161te kukuruza od 2005. kada je izglasan zakon koji nala\u017ee da se on dodaje u ameri\u010dko gorivo. Industrija restorana brze hrane sada zahteva da se zakon ukine. Na nedavnoj konferenciji za novinare, vlasnik fran\u0161ize restorana Vendis, Ed Anderson rekao je da ga taj propis godi\u0161nje ko\u0161ta do 30 hiljada dolara po svakom od njegova \u010detiri restorana.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cKongres je izglasao zakon o etanolu, a restorani trpe najvi\u0161e u ovoj ekonomiji kada to ne mo\u017eemo da priu\u0161timo\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Me\u0111utim, zagovornici propisa o etanolu ne sla\u017eu se da je zakon odgovoran za rast cena hrane. \u0160ef Asocijacije za obnovljivo gorivo, Bob Dinin ka\u017ee da ukidanje zakona ne bi mnogo uticalo na promenu cena kukuruza.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Usled manjih faktora, cena se menja za 3 ili 4 centa na berzi u \u010cikagu. Dakle ukidanje tog programa ne\u0107e doneti olak\u0161anje. Etanol nije uzrok skoka cena i nema razloga za ukidanje programa\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Dinin dodaje da etanol umanjuje ovisnost o uvoznoj nafti i odr\u017eava cene goriva na niskom nivou. Etanol je jeftiniji od benzina, tako da ga proizvo\u0111a\u010di goriva dodaju benzinu bez obzira na zakon. Ukidanje tog propisa trenutno ne bi imalo ve\u0107eg uticaja, ka\u017ee Pet Vesthof.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cNe mislimo da bi to kratkoro\u010dno uticalo na cene etanola i kukuruza ili na koli\u010dinu kukuruza koji se koristi za proizvodnju etanola. Ukoliko bi se ti propisi zauvek promenili, onda bismo videli ve\u0107e promene u budu\u0107nosti\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sada\u0161nji zakon propisuje pove\u0107anu upotrebu etanola. Vesthof ka\u017ee da to podrazumeva i ve\u0107u koli\u010dinu kukuruza \u0161to \u0107e izvr\u0161iti pritisak na cene hrane.
