Novi Pazar – On the journey to the holy sites this year, organized by the Islamic Community in Serbia, the fifth Islamic duty or pillar – Hajj (Pilgrimage) will be carried out by 187 persons. The Pilgrims come from the areas of Sandzak, Belgrade, Presevo and the Sandzak Diaspora.
Sandzak Mufti, Muamer Zukorlic, thanked Allah s.w.t., for enabling us to see off our pilgrims on their journey of the holy places this year. “The light of Islam can not be quenched by anyone's ignorance, evil intention, nor cruel concealing of truth no matter how powerful it may be.
In this region Hajj has never been forgotten, on the contrary, the journey for Hajj was made even in difficult conditions. The Islamic Community in Serbia, cements its pillars even deeper and stronger this year by escorting our pilgrims on their way to Mecca and Medina.” Mufti Zukorlić said in his speech that the pilgrims who travel should be distinguished among thousand of others by their behavior, Islamic morals, devotion and respect for all.
Ikrar prayer was recited by Deputy Sandzak Mufti Hafiz Abdurrahman ef. Kujević with the assembled relatives, friends and acquaintances of the pilgrims, the gathering was also attended by managers, directors of institutions of the Islamic Community in Serbia, as well as representatives of cultural and public life in Sandzak.
